Magnetic Separators

Inline Magnetic Separators and Indexing Magnetic Indexing Drum Filters fit in with the SmartSkim core philosophy: No consumables; no moving parts (or minimal in the case of the Magnetic Drum); simple to understand, operate, and maintain. Rare earth high intensity magnets on all the filters build up a matrix of contamination that not only remove small ferrous fines, but nonferrous fines also get caught up in the matrix of contamination and become a filter aid themselves. They will remove contaminants to submicron levels without consumables, are simple to clean and produce a dry waste that’s easy to dispose of. These filters can be installed on individual machine tools, parts washers, hydraulic lines, heat treat quenchants and are also a great retrofit to an existing filtration system.

Product Line includes:

Magnetic Posts and support cage - for inserting into most commonly used bag filter housings, round tube & square tube designs, 6,500 – 12,000 Gauss rating. SS construction with support cage. One version is good to 175 degrees, another to 250 degrees. These are great for retrofitting an existing filter set up where you are not achieving the level of filtration or bag filter life that you expect. These posts attract the ferrous fines away from the filter bags, and you can use standard off the shelf bag filters, no special bag filters with sewn in pockets that draw the oily, greasy contamination to the bag, thus prematurely blinding them.

In-Line Separators – Three Models

MicroMag- Rare Earth in-line separators, compact, general purpose for most machining applications, manually cleaned, 6,500 Gauss rating, Three models (5”, 10”, & 20”) that have either a 1” or 1.5” NPT and flow rates respectively of 15, 22, & 33 gpm. Visual inspection of fluid being filtered and contamination collected. Minimal pressure drop, even when fully loaded with contamination thanks to patented magnetic circuit design. Contaminated fluid enters the inlet port where it is equally dispersed by the unique tapered radial flow channels. These channels slow the fluid down and the contamination particles are attracted and retained by the magnetic core. The geometry of the magnetic flux circuit ensures a controlled build up of contamination so the filter can never block. The three models hold 2.2lbs, 4.4lbs and 8.8lbs of contamination respectively.

FiltraMag- Rare Earth in-line separators for higher contamination and flow rates, fully stainless steel construction, manually clean, 1.5” & 2.5” NPT, for up to 132 gpm. Available in 2 sizes with a core of either three or six high-intensity rare earth magnetic rods with 11,000 Gauss magnetic performance. Contaminated fluid enters the Filtramag via the inlet port and travels through the matrix of rods which attract and hold the contamination. Clean fluid leaves the Filtramag at the outlet port. Pressure is always maintained.

AutoMag – Rare Earth in-line Separators, Automatic self cleaning, 11,000 gauss rating. Up to 237 gpm, 24/7 operations.

Indexing Magnetic Drum- Indexing, standard and rare earth, up to 300 gpm, self cleaning. What sets us apart is our raised pole drum construction and the logic employed to index the drum, automatically on demand. The captured contaminants being discharged are drier which reduces coolant loss. This results in the most-reliable, ultra-efficient filtration and removal of magnetic and non-magnetic contaminants from your process fluids.
